Intake ("we", "our", "us") operates the Intake mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our app.

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Account information: Your name, email address, and authentication credentials (via Apple Sign In or Google OAuth).
Profile information: Fitness goal, activity level, age, sex, weight, height, dietary restrictions, allergies, and any additional health notes you provide. This is used solely to personalize your scan results.
Scan data: Photos of product labels are sent to our servers for analysis and are not stored after processing. Scan results (product name, score, ingredient analysis) are stored in your account.

To store your scan history so you can reference past results
To enforce usage limits (free vs. premium)

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase: Database and authentication (data stored securely in the cloud)
Google Gemini API: AI-powered label analysis (photos are sent for processing and not retained by Google)
Open Food Facts: Product identification via barcode lookup
RevenueCat: Subscription management
Apple / Google: Authentication providers

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase with row-level security, meaning you can only access your own data. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. This permanently deletes all your data including your profile, scan history, and usage records. This action cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Intake is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Not Medical Advice

Intake provides informational analysis of food and supplement labels. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet or supplement routine.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy in the app.
